1. This agreement
- Paheli introduces people. It does not vet them, vouch for them, or supervise what happens next.
- You must be 18 or over, and everything you put on your profile must be true and yours.
- You are responsible for your own decisions — who you talk to, what you share, whether you meet, and what follows.
- Paid features are digital and are usually consumed immediately; refunds are limited and set out in the refunds policy.
- We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, and we do so without a refund.
This summary is here to help you read faster. The sections below are the part that counts.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Paheli Dating (“Paheli”, “we”, “us”) covering your use of the Paheli mobile app, this website and everything in them (the “Service”).
By creating an account, or by using the Service at all, you accept these Terms. They work together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Community Guidelines, Disclaimer and Refunds & Cancellations policy, each of which is part of this agreement. If you do not accept them, do not use Paheli.
2. Who may use Paheli
To use the Service you confirm that you:
- are at least 18 years old — there are no exceptions, and we delete accounts we find below this age;
- are legally able to enter into a binding contract and are not barred from doing so under any applicable law;
- have never been convicted of, or required to register for, a felony, a sexual offence, or any violent crime;
- have not previously had a Paheli account removed by us for a breach of these Terms or our Guidelines;
- will maintain only one account, in your own real identity, for your personal, non-commercial use.
Paheli is offered to users in India. If you use it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for complying with your local law.
3. Your account
You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time passcode. That number is your key to the account, so:
- Never share an OTP with anyone. Not with a friend, not with a caller, not with anyone claiming to be from Paheli — we will never ask for it.
- Keep your device locked and your phone number under your control. If you give up a number, remove your Paheli account from it first.
- You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. Tell us at support.paheli@gmail.com immediately if you think someone else has access to it.
- You may not sell, rent, transfer or share your account, or let anyone else use it.
4. What Paheli is — and what it is not
Paheli is a platform for introductions. We show you a small number of profiles a day and give you a way to talk to the ones who like you back. That is the whole of what we provide.
Paheli does not run criminal background checks, identity verification against government records, sex-offender register checks, or any other screening of its users. A verification badge, where shown, means a light in-app check was passed — it is not a guarantee of anyone’s identity, character, intentions, marital status or safety. Treat every person you meet on Paheli as a stranger, because that is what they are.
Paheli is not, and does not claim to be:
- a matchmaking, marriage-broking or introduction agency service;
- a background-check or identity-verification service;
- a guarantor of any user’s statements, photos, age, occupation, relationship status or intentions;
- a party to, participant in, or supervisor of any conversation, date, relationship, transaction or arrangement between users;
- a provider of relationship, legal, financial, medical or psychological advice.
5. You are responsible for your interactions
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users — online and offline — and for every decision you take as a result of using Paheli. You use the Service, and you meet the people you meet through it, at your own risk.
In particular, you accept that:
- People lie. Profiles, photos, ages, jobs, intentions and marital status may be false. We cannot verify them and we do not try to.
- Meeting anyone is your decision alone. Whether to chat, whether to share your number, whether to meet, where to meet, whether to travel, whether to go home with someone — all of it is your call and your risk.
- We take no responsibility for what other users do — whether that is dishonesty, harassment, abuse, theft, fraud, physical harm, emotional harm, or anything else, whether it happens inside Paheli, over another app, or in person.
- Never send money. Do not transfer money, make UPI payments, buy gift cards, invest in anything, pay a “customs fee” or share financial details with someone you met on Paheli. Money you send is gone, and Paheli cannot recover it for you. See our Safety Centre for the scam patterns we see most in India.
- Take precautions. Video-call before you meet. Meet in a public place. Arrange your own transport. Tell a friend where you are going and when you will be back. Leave whenever you want to.
You agree to take all reasonable precautions in every interaction with other users, and you release Paheli from any claim arising out of them, to the fullest extent the law allows. This is set out further in our Disclaimer.
6. How you must behave
The full rules live in our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines, and they are part of this agreement. In short: be real, be decent, do not use Paheli to sell, scam, harass or harm anyone, and do not try to break the app.
Breaking those rules can cost you your account — with no refund of anything you have paid.
7. Your content
Your photos, bio, prompts and messages remain yours. You keep ownership of everything you post.
So that we can actually run the app, you grant Paheli a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize, display and transmit your content, solely for the purposes of operating and improving the Service, moderating it, and keeping it safe. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that remain in a match’s conversation, in backups until they rotate out, or where we must keep something for a safety or legal reason.
You promise that everything you post:
- is yours to post, and does not infringe anyone else’s rights;
- shows you — your photos must be recent and genuinely of you;
- does not include anyone else who has not agreed to appear, and never a child in any suggestive context;
- is not unlawful, obscene, hateful, defamatory, deceptive or otherwise in breach of our Guidelines.
We may remove, blur, restrict or refuse any content, at any time, if we reasonably think it breaches these Terms or the law — including content reported by other users. We are not obliged to monitor content, and nothing here makes us the author or endorser of it.
8. Paid features, billing and subscriptions
The core of Paheli is free: your daily puzzle, your introductions and chatting with your matches. Some optional extras are paid. What is on sale, and at what price, changes from time to time — the app always shows the current price in Indian rupees before you confirm.
| Type | What it does | How it is billed |
|---|---|---|
| Day Pass | Unlocks the rest of today's lineup, once, until the daily reset. | One-off, consumed the same day. |
| Profile Boost | Surfaces your profile to more people for the rest of the day. | One-off, consumed the same day. |
| Credit packs | Credits spent on instant profiles and other in-app extras. | One-off; credits are spent as you use them. |
| Subscription plans | Time-limited access to unlimited reveals, hints and similar perks. | Recurring until you cancel, through the app store. |
By buying anything on Paheli you agree that:
- you are authorised to use the payment method, and the amount shown is payable in full;
- subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel, and cancellation is done in your app store’s subscription settings — not by deleting the Paheli app or your account;
- a purchase gives you access to a feature, not to any result. Buying a Boost, a Day Pass or a plan does not promise you likes, matches, replies or dates;
- benefits that reset daily are lost at the reset, whether or not you used them;
- we may change prices, introduce new paid features, or stop offering one. Price changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.
Refunds and cancellations are covered in full by our Refunds & Cancellations policy.
9. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Paheli whenever you like. Pause discovery in Settings, or delete your account outright.
We may limit features on, suspend, or permanently terminate an account — with or without notice, at our reasonable discretion — if we believe it has breached these Terms, our Terms of Use or our Community Guidelines; if it is being used to deceive, harass, defraud or endanger someone; if it belongs to someone under 18; if it is a duplicate or bot account; or if we are required to do so by law.
When an account is terminated for a breach, any unused paid time, credits or passes are forfeited and no refund is due. If you think we got it wrong, email support.paheli@gmail.com and we will review it — once, by a human.
10. Our intellectual property
The Paheli name, the knot mark, the logotype, the app, the website, the puzzle format and generator, the source code, the copy and the designs are owned by Paheli Dating and protected by intellectual property law.
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on a device you own, for its intended purpose. That licence does not let you copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or create derivative works from any part of the Service, or use our branding without written permission.
11. Third-party services
Paheli relies on third parties — the Google Play Store, payment platforms, cloud hosting, SMS delivery, push notifications and mapping data among them. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their acts, omissions, outages or charges.
Links from the app or this website to other sites are provided for convenience. We do not control them and do not endorse their content.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or free of bugs, errors or downtime;
- any profile, statement, photo or claim made by another user is true;
- you will receive introductions, likes, matches, replies, dates or a relationship;
- the people you meet through Paheli are who they say they are, are safe, are single, or will behave lawfully.
Our full statement of what we are and are not responsible for is on the Disclaimer page, and forms part of these Terms.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paheli Dating, its directors, employees and service providers will not be liable for:
- any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary loss;
- loss of profit, opportunity, data, goodwill, reputation, or emotional distress;
- any injury, death, loss, damage, harassment, abuse, fraud, theft or other harm caused by the conduct of another user, whether online, over another platform, or in person;
- money or property you transfer to, or arrangements you enter into with, another user;
- unauthorised access to your account arising from your device, your phone number, or an OTP you shared;
- interruption, suspension or discontinuation of the Service, or loss of content or messages.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid Paheli in the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₹1,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Indian law — including liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct, or under consumer-protection law. The limits above apply only as far as the law allows them to.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Paheli Dating, its directors, employees and service providers from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your breach of these Terms or of any law, or your interaction or dispute with any other user.
15. Governing law, disputes and grievances
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the step below, the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them.
Talk to us first. Most problems are solved in one email. Before starting any formal proceeding, please write to support.paheli@gmail.com with the detail of your complaint and give us a fair chance to resolve it.
Grievance Officer. In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, complaints may be addressed to The Grievance Officer at support.paheli@gmail.com. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes or the law requires. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by message before they take effect. Continuing to use Paheli after that means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, stop using the Service and delete your account.
17. General
- Severability. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the clause is read down to the minimum extent necessary.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up.
- Assignment. You may not assign this agreement. We may assign it as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the policies linked from them, are the whole agreement between you and Paheli about the Service.
