Your data

Delete your account and everything on it

No dark patterns and no retention offers in the way. Two routes, a clear timeline, and an honest list of the few records we are legally required to hold on to.

1. What deletion actually does

The short version
  • Deletion is permanent. Your profile, photos, matches and chats cannot be restored afterwards.
  • Your profile comes out of everyone's lineup immediately.
  • Your personal data is erased from our live systems within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days.
  • Cancel any paid subscription in the Play Store first — deleting the account does not stop the billing.
  • If you only want a break, you can pause discovery instead and keep everything.

This summary is here to help you read faster. The sections below are the part that counts.

You have the right to have your Paheli account and personal data deleted, and this page is the whole process. It applies to the app and to any data we hold about you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Before you delete

Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your Paheli account does not cancel a subscription billed by Google Play. Cancel it in Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions first, or it will keep renewing. See the Refunds & Cancellations policy.

Also worth knowing:

  • Unused paid time, credits, passes and boosts are lost on deletion and are not refunded.
  • Your matches and conversation history are gone for you and cannot be recovered — not by us, not by support.
  • You can sign up again later with the same number, but nothing from the old account comes back.

Would a smaller step do?

  • Pause discovery — Settings → Privacy → turn off “Show me on Paheli”. No new introductions are built and your profile stops being shown, but your matches and chats stay.
  • Delete individual photos or details — Edit profile.
  • Block or unmatch one person instead of leaving entirely.
  • Turn off notifications — Settings → Notifications.

3. Two ways to delete

Option A — email us (works today)

  1. Write to support.paheli@gmail.com with the subject Account deletion request.
  2. Include the phone number registered on the account (with country code) and the name on the profile.
  3. We may send a one-time code to that number to confirm it is really you. We do not delete an account we cannot verify — that protects you from someone else deleting it.
  4. We confirm by email once the deletion has been carried out.

Open a pre-filled deletion email →

Option B — in the app

  1. Open Paheli and go to You → Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm when asked. The action is permanent.
Heads-up on the in-app button

Self-service deletion is being rolled out. If the button in your version of the app tells you to contact support, use Option A — email deletion is fully supported and is actioned on the same timeline.

4. How long it takes

WhenWhat happens
ImmediatelyYour profile stops being shown to anyone, you are removed from open lineups, and you are signed out.
Within 2 working daysWe acknowledge an emailed request and verify it is you.
Within 30 daysYour personal data is erased from our live systems and databases.
Within 90 daysCopies in routine encrypted backups age out and are overwritten.

5. What is deleted, and what we must keep

Deleted

  • Your name, date of birth, gender and profile details.
  • Your bio, prompts, interests, job, school and languages.
  • Every photo you uploaded.
  • Your location and discovery preferences.
  • Your likes, passes, introductions, matches and conversations.
  • Your phone number and sign-in tokens.

Kept, for a limited time and purpose

  • Transaction records — the fact, amount and date of purchases, for the period tax and accounting law requires. These do not include your card or UPI details, which we never held.
  • Safety records — a minimal record of reports, bans and enforcement actions, so that someone removed for harassment, fraud or being underage cannot immediately return. This is kept apart from your profile and used for nothing else.
  • Messages you sent — a copy stays in your former match’s conversation, attributed to a deleted user. It is their conversation too, and we cannot reach into it.
  • Anything we are specifically required to preserve by law or by a lawful order.

More detail on retention is in section 9 of our Privacy Policy.

6. Other data requests

Deletion is not your only option. Write to support.paheli@gmail.com if instead you want to:

  • get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct something we hold that is wrong;
  • withdraw consent for a specific use, such as location;
  • nominate someone to act for you if you die or become incapacitated;
  • ask us to delete the account of someone who has died — we will explain what we need to verify it.

7. Common questions

Can I undo a deletion?

No. Once the deletion runs, it cannot be reversed and the data cannot be restored. If you are unsure, pause discovery instead and decide later.

Will my matches be told?

No. Your profile simply disappears from their conversation list, shown as a deleted user.

Does deleting the app delete my account?

No. Uninstalling removes the app from your phone; your account and data stay until you delete them here or in Settings.

Can I sign up again with the same number?

Usually yes — but you start from scratch. If the account was banned for a breach of our Terms, signing up again is itself a breach.

Someone is using my number on Paheli. What now?

Email support.paheli@gmail.com immediately. We will verify control of the number and remove the account.
